AST8000

Telescopic galvanized mast

The AST8000 Hydraulic Lighting Tower is a fully hydraulic self-contained lighting set with a maximum mast height of 8.15-metres. It is fitted with 4 no. 2000w metal halide lamps with on/off switches for each lamp.  The AST8000 Hydraulic Lighting Tower has a safe manually lowering system in the event of hydraulic failure and three command levers to give the operator total control over the rising mechanism.  The power is provided by a 16kVA generator fuelled by a long-run 116-litre, fully bunded, fuel tank.

The AST8000 Hydraulic Lighting Tower is ideally suited for airports, constriction sites, large outside events and in civil protection situations.

We can supply lighting towers to your own specific requirements,

  • Only safety has been considered, because no perception of detail is needed and visual fatigue is unlikely.
However, where it is necessary to see detail to recognise a hazard or where error in performing the task could put someone else at risk, for safety purposes as well as to avoid visual fatigue, the figure needs to be increased to that for work requiring the perception of detail.
The CIBSE (Code for interior lighting) gives more information and recommendation based on scientific knowledge, practical experience, technical feasibility and economic reality.
  • The purpose is to avoid fatigue; the illuminances will be adequate for safety purposes.
